Morningstar Essentials - Update to Ranking Data for US Insurance Funds - Dec. 4, 2023, and Mar. 4, 2024

On December 4, 2023, Morningstar Essentials will update the values for the ‘Number of Funds’ data points for US Insurance Funds in the Ranking Data and Custom Report tabs. If your firm displays Ranking data points in any materials, such as Percent Rank in Category or Quartile Rank in Category, you will need to update the ‘Number of Funds’ qualifying data points to the new values. Please note, the Rankings themselves will not change, only the peer group size will change.

Additionally, on December 4, 2023, Morningstar Essentials will null the values for the ‘Absolute Rank’ data points for US Insurance Funds in the Ranking Data and Custom Report tabs and export files. Then, on March 4, 2024, Morningstar Essentials will remove completely the data points in these tabs and export files:

Abs. Rank 3-Mo
Abs. Rank 6-Mo
Abs. Rank 1-Yr
Abs. Rank 3-Yr
Abs. Rank 5-Yr
Abs. Rank 10-Yr
Abs. Rank 15-Yr
Abs. Rank 20-Yr

If your firm displays Absolute Rank data points in any materials for US Insurance Funds, you will need to remove them.

The ratings and peer group sizes found in other tabs (e.g., Rating Data) will not change.
