Morningstar Expands Factor Tilt Index Family
|
Morningstar Factor Tilt Indexes offer alternative exposure to the underlying markets by tilting the portfolio to capture the size and value premium. The Morningstar Factor Tilt family was launched last year with the introduction of the Morningstar US Market Factor Tilt Index. Two more indexes have been recently added to the Factor Tilt family - the Morningstar Developed Markets ex-US Factor Tilt Index and the Morningstar Emerging Markets Factor Tilt Index. All three of these indexes are licensed by Northern Trust Flexshares for ETFs.

Wide Moat Focus Volatility 5 Index Launched
|
Morningstar Indexes launched the Wide Moat Volatility 5 Index, a risk control variation of the Wide Moat Focus Index. The objective of the Index is to provide flexible exposure to the base index (the Morningstar Wide Moat Focus Index) by achieving a 5% volatility target. This index has been licensed by Goldman Sachs for creation of structured notes.

Morningstar Indexes Adds Global Business Development Directors
|
Morningstar has appointed Robert Broadwell as director of business development for Morningstar's Index business in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In this role, Robert is responsible for institutional business development of Morningstar's family of indexes to ETF providers, asset managers and investment banks in those regions. Elaine Orr has joined Morningstar as director of business development and is responsible for relationship management and development for strategic accounts across the globe. Both Robert and Elaine most recently held positions at BlackRock and have deep expertise in passive money management.
